Hiking in the mountains is very fresh from Calazos book presses. The subtitle is "all you need to know to get started with mountain hiking" and it promises quite a lot 🙂
I really like the book, very inspiring and even makes me want to leave the sofa and go for a walk in the mountains. The book maintains a pleasant tone and it is more tips and inspiration than must-haves and this-is-it, as is often the case in many books written by experienced people.
As I said, a very inspiring book that should go home with both beginners in mountain hiking, but where even experienced mountain foxes can find creative gold nuggets. The book goes through our mountain areas, advises on equipment in a good way and much of the equipment of course also works for paddling if you don't necessarily want the heaviest stuff. Furthermore, packing lists are reviewed, how to behave in order to find the right one, plan your trip and also a chapter on mountain food.
Really readable and inspiring!
