Chanterelles are easy to like. Beautiful where they stand in nature and good to eat. We don't have quantities on the plot, but we probably get 5-10 liters per year in any case. Then there is a lot in the immediate area. Good to go out and take some from time to time and put in the fridge, after a couple of laps you have a couple of sandwiches or a dish.
When I started working from home 15 years ago, I sat outside with the computer relatively often. If I heard a car stop, I used to go "around the corner" and pick chanterelles and other mushrooms where you knew they would go and pick the biggest mushrooms just before the pickers. After a while it seemed that the mushroom picking visits slowed down 😉
We probably eat the yellow chanterelles most often on a sandwich or in a pasta sauce. There is usually a little bit to eat right away and some for the freezer.
