Kayak Trip Scandinavia

Björkvik in December 2004
The contact network for Paddlers Kayak Trip or Kayak Trip Scandinavia, which I later came to naming it.

This is the last fired from a dying horse. Greetings from the spider in the web, Karin Mentzing. I have now for over two years have set to make history's last issue of the magazine Kayak Trip.

Four members sent material after last issue's publication (No. August 18, 2002) ... is not a large number exactly. I have no longer a current to move the debate. And I just have not been able to summon up the strength to pick around for more material or take hold of the magazine's creation.

I surrender.

I put the project without further fuss. Guessing that most of the members also long since given up hope that it would show up any more issues of Kayak Trip.

So now the big question is what to do with what remains of a member fund. I decided to focus them on getting all the old issues of the magazine PDF ilerade and thus save a piece kayak history to the internet surfing for posterity.

The so-so three second persuasion undertook Erik & Pia to perform this mega project.

Brief background: The contact network was born in 1997 and we were at most about 350 members, most of them Swedish kayak enthusiasts, but also an extensive thread from Norway, Denmark and Finland. With very irregular intervals, I completed article material sent in by members, put it together into a single newspaper and sent out the same one to all members.

In early 2002, we sat together with Brunnsviken KK's Journal, in the hope that the product in the future would be bigger, more beautiful, wider and more stable release.

After the merger, the majority of Swedes and almost all Norwegians, Danes and Finns contact network. In addition, steeping the merger and left, we sat around eighty members, and a rather dejected as a hub.

But for those who want to be nostalgic, and for those who missed the train now, therefore salvation in the form of 17 pieces of PDF files for download when the winter dusk and paddle the water becomes hard and ofarbart.

I would also like to thank all the members through the years for fun, delightful, instructive intercourse, digital, verbal, postcards and sometimes even in real terms. For all the great journey stories, articles and other things that made the magazine possible, and that inspired me and many other kayak enthusiasts to one and other mischief in the wet.

And special thanks to Erik and Pia as the last few years taking care of membership records, mailing lists, member lists, and now this monstrous pdf ilerande.

The newsletters for download

PDF files are quite large, as we scanned the material and because we want it to be possible to print them and still have reasonably good readability.
