13/7: We got the Norwegian money in Mo i Rana and then drove on to the railway. It was really two stuffed kayaks (and heavy) as around 20-times ruled the north towards the island of Viking with its fine newly restored polcirkelmarkering. Quickly the country and take the classical image of the circle in the background.

The weather was unbelievably nice. Most of the car ride was wet, but here the sun shone from a clear blue sky and there was virtually no wind. The idea we had from the beginning was to paddle out to the Viking and stay over there one night, but we could not stop paddling now! So the sight was on the West and Hest Mona. It almost feels like coming home. The peaks of the islands are so easy to spot, making it easy to navigate now that we've been here a few times.

The first night, great start to a great tour
We found a new super tent on NW side of the island. A little messy to take the kayaks ashore, but there was a better place on the other side the cape we camped on. Though we saw not until later ... ![]()
Some gnats came out when we cooked and ate our culinary meal. Time is 23:30 and it is still light. So nice!

Nice place at Hest Mona. At a quarter past 11 at night.

Nice evening light

Soon, the sun is at its lowest, the time is 23:45
We have already seen a lot of animals, seals, sea eagles, puffins, curlews, porpoises and mink. Good dividend first day ![]()
