Slapøy - Husvær

Morning at Slapøy - right green island with forests which many other islands do not have.

19/7: Woke up pretty early and tried to revive Eric. Took a little while but eventually he came up. Had breakfast in the lee of the tent. We decided to continue south towards Husvær and Havnomaden Kajakksenter, owned and operated by a Danish / Norwegian couple, Inge and Bent Skauen , whom we met at Lovund 2004 .

Green and clear

At half past ten we sat in our kayaks, good timing when it was high tide With the wind behind we headed towards Dönnamannen and its southern cape. Below the hill, it was really nice beaches that stretched a good bit. We found out that there are toilets that use if you would like to camp there. The waves were pretty big, just over one meter, and steep at the entrance between Donna and Langøy, where the tide was going out. I did not dare to paddle on to catch waves and surf ... kayak turned too quickly, so I took it easy.

Takeout

Lunch was served just north of Herøy and we took the opportunity to call and check if there was room in Havnomaden . After some felpaddlingar, where we thought it would be the passage but was again built with the road, we finally found the road between North and South-Herøy. There were plenty of boat traffic, so it was wise to be up to the edge. Then continued south succeeding Sør-Herøys east side, before we went over to Præstøy and Husvær.

Havnomaden Kajakksenter see from a distance like a large gray building, but when you get closer you see that the entire facade is clad in gray-brown above wooden plank. Super Nice! Missing just one from a distance can see that it is about kayaks here ... They have really put a lot of work to fix the old building and built to fit the requirements they have. Kayaks of bla NDK / SKUK Romany and Explorer and others. I can really recommend it! The pub was open when we came Inge met us, and was actually remember us. Impressive! In normal circumstances, they have no food service over breakfast if they shall say. But if you have received some good ingredients, it may happen that you're offered a nice dinner for a little money. Today we were lucky ... laxsnittar and giant crab claws that we had to eat out. Fortunately it is highly capable kladdade and splashed!
