Örö the first Advent, 2007

Örö - Misterhult, 29/11-1/12

This year, it became Örö and Misterhult around the first Sunday of Advent for the sixth consecutive year, may well count as tradition. I arrived Klint Painting by lunchtime on Thursday, light drizzle, gray, silent and beautiful. The advantage of rain when you pack is the packing go faster ... Paddled out to the east of Alo, ornate little among the islands and went ashore on St. Vippholmen for lunch, now held rain coming up.
Went out Strupö up against Swine Cut, saw a few eagles here and there. Over the Nötgårdsö through narrow straits between Nötgårdsö and Hook Cut up against St. Berkö and then south again and landed at Little Brando for the evening when it started getting dark.
Crawled into the tent, ate little, slept little, read a little, looked up at the now starry sky and out over the water, ate some more, slept some more, took a SM, looked a little email and SMS, etc. Forward midnight I pulled back the tent and crept down firmly in the bag.

Kayaking and camping at Little Palosaari

Woke up not so early On Friday, checked on Pia and Christian come away from Scania, they did. After breakfast and a short walk on the small island I paddled away. Paddled a little here and there around the islands north of St. Bergö, saw råddjur on several islands, one sea eagle. A little gray, but no rain, went through Älösund and then toward Klint Paint saw a seal on the way, just some kilometers from the port, the third seal, I see in Misterhult at all. Arrived Klint Painting 10 minutes before Pia and Christian came and Kenneth arrived oxå simultaneously.

We paddled a little to the east, began to rain, had coffee at Eko, paddled over to Huvfallsö, into Strupö, did not look promising, had for us that someone lived year-round out there. Further away to the Little Vippholmen for night camp. First some howled and mulled wine inside our yellow "dome", then some "reading" (wonder it sounds so when you read), sedation, transmittance, etc. Cooking, Kenneth offered for the right of the judgment, fine as hell, 'then a little SM after that and then we fell asleep sweet.

I'm on the road to the east

Pia eat, trattkantarellsås with pasta - very tasty!

Up and breakfast then off to Klint paint again, Bjorn and Mats had driven up in the morning from Nättraby and Helsingborg, malmöit are Ulf , Leif and Marja-Lisa had driven up the day before and slept in a cabin nearby.

We went out again, by Älösund, some local star shooting clay pigeons, I felt as if he could stop a little sooner, but we did get no bullets on us ... Took us by St. Bergö, Idtullen and Pigs Cut to Wiströms on Örö where we landed. Before long mulled wine arrived and the fish soup was and simmered on the stove. Malin and Magnus had taken out the day before, but they were nowhere to be, but during lunch popped the top, they had taken a turn to bring up the appetite and had a little wind back, so it took a little longer than expected.
As usual, a delicious lunch and then cheesecake and coffee for dessert, just getting used to, when you are on Örö stomach is usually always crammed ...

Pia going through Älösund

The last bit of Örö, some cross wind but no waves ... more

After lunch the walk to most of us, while some slept, some went for a shorty around some of the little island, some hung out with the whole "adventure" round around the little island and then it was just Pia and I left for full circle Örö, rained some so we were pretty wet when we got back just before it got dark and Elisabeth had just lit the sauna.

Walking, here on the northeast side. Good waves with a slice out. Knocked over the old lighthouse and it is after all a few meters high

A little reading, then I went down and put on some extra bastuved, a round in the shed where Kenneth was living for a Talisker. Then we went to the sauna that has come up to temperature, began with a swim in the sea, fanned pretty good, nice! Then bass spirit, beer, screamed, prayed, etc. Most sat a long time and had plenty.

Comfortable in the sauna

At 7-thicket it was getting time for dinner, it was served on flat smoked ålmacka for starters, and then Highland cuttle-steak for main course (those cute hairy buggers) and then cheese on it. Yes, as I said, gorged, you are most of the time.
After coffee, chocolate, SM and other drug we eventually onto the beds. Me and Pia lived like last year in the granary, cozy "own" accommodation.

Pulp good food

Illuminated outside

I woke up on time and did a GD and then a walk for over an hour around Örö and Lillö, did see a couple havsöarnar and a deer before I banged me at the breakfast table.
Pia was a little later out of bed, but did oxå with a walk before breakfast.

Nice light among the boats

Proud rooster, which ensures that the egg is at the right level ;-)

After some pottering with båtbärande, kayak carrying and feeding equipment so we sat in our kayaks just after the 11th Took us East of Pigs Cut, saw a few eagles and then a couple to and at the next island, it was 3-4 and the next as well! Have never seen so many eagles, they were everywhere, lots of fun! Ornate in the conglomeration of Pigs Cut and Strupö and gazed at the large fiskjusebot, most wanted snirkla. Then we took lunch at Strupö, cozy!

The orange / yellow gang, there was a blue thread oxå, though much less

Leaving Örö - see you again soon

Through the narrow channel between Little and Great Vippholmen into Klint Paint on all flatter water and an increasingly uppsprickande cloud cover.

Not just kayak freak - photo geek oxå!

Medium and Small Vippholmen

As usual, a very very nice ride, very happy that I came out and had to camp a little as well, that was too long ago. Next year maybe I should be out a few more days. Longing back.

Some pictures from previous trips to the advent Örö are here: 2002 , 2003 , 2004 , 2005 & 2006 .
