Fjällbacka, Aug. 2003

Between Lökholmen and Dann Holmen

1 to 3 August
The idea was to paddle over to Väderöarna with Tjörns Kajakklubb , on condition that the wind was "nice". I drove up on Friday and paddled south from Fjällbacka. At lunch I met up with Olle on Trinissla. Phew was that the number of boats had decreased considerably since my last visit to this archipelago, and so also the number of jellyfish!

ag & Olle ended up at N Dyngön and pitched tents there, because we had nyfiskade crabs of a sailboat on Lyngön so would surely these cooked.
After swimming and some fishing (without feeding) cooked a crab (just got the place in the pot) and was enjoyed later in the evening when Zarko also found their way to the island. Pretty good, but a bit "fiddly" munching ;-)

Lucky that the crab was not greater ;-) | Camp on Long Cut

On Saturday morning we paddled toward Fjällbacka to connect with the rest of the group at 10-thicket was all clear. Since wind forecasts were not quite optimal, it was determined lunch at Långskär and interception of shipping forecast after lunch.

Out on Långskär we met Ralf and Per-Arne who spent the night there. The lunch tasted good in the sunshine, the weather forecast guessed increasing wind so it was decided that we stayed at Long Cut. Some went off to snorkel adventure, others on a canoe trip south (with the ascent of Dyngön), some stayed on Long Cut with a good book and the rest of us gave us out to try to find some waves.

On the outside of the island was part lake, but there was no order to it, so it was hard to get someone to surf, there was at least some rescue exercises and some rolls before we were tired and wet went ashore again.

The late afternoon was enjoyed in glorious sunshine and towards the evening if / as food dissolved certainly the odd world problems. One of the most difficult questions was "why are there so few girls with the paddling area?" In this group was 3 pieces of 14 participants. As a girl gang from Ljungskile also camped at Långskär tried the help from there with a solution, but I do not know if we were like that much wiser. Hopefully it will with more girls to come!

It was decided that on Sunday we would sleep late and not run away until late. I woke up at 6 o'clock and went out and took a dip and then it was a few already up. Bengt was surprised "I always eat first breakfast for yourself." At 9 was all finished and we left, and it was not too late!?

Between Fläskön and Dyngön

The wind continued, and we were glad that we did not set out to weather the islands and would take us into. We paddled south into two groups: a "snuggle" and a "little boy". Little Boy Group stack in advance it was they who would paddle a little faster. We others in the "snuggle" group arrived shortly after, we would take it easier. On Gluppö waited "pysarna" to "mysarna," we took a short coffee break and then paddled to Dyngön for lunch. We not climbed the island the day before did it now and had a nice view up there at the small pilot house.

When lunch was finished we paddled almost straight to Fjällbacka for onward journey home. A very nice ride even this time.
