Canon PowerShot D10
We bought a waterproof Canon PowerShot D10 this spring and it has been around since then and worked well for the most part. Sure, you would think that it is a bit clumsy and the rounded shape makes it slippery when wet. But it has delivered very good pictures of many of this year's tours only, and has mostly kept up with Pia's life jacket while I used the Panasonic Lumix FT-1.
But now that it has become a little cooler out there, it started to become hard to start! It was not cold but just for 10 plus, it is difficult to get, but it is hit and miss.
Anyone been through something similar on the D10? Canon support did not recognize the problem. Now on to the workshop via Cyberphoto . We'll see what they say ... an error or is it that it has been for a little pampering? ![]()
Or is it a summer cam? Or tolerate it just to be in a humid environment for a short time?

Like canoeing, especially tour paddling in beautiful archipelago. Does time outdoors counted and nights in a tent as well. Paddling seems clear fun and I try to get out and move about a bit in the surface here and there. On kajak.nu we try to inspire others to come out. Text and images here come from both me and Pia.

Have a D10: a that works well both in a moist environment above and below water. Have had it mounted on the front tire when I have been practicing eskimo roll.
There has not been really cold yet, just a few degrees below zero, but it starts lightning fast in all conditions.
What irritates the most is that it fails to highlight in some subjects and a few times, the lens has "hung" when the autofocus does not find anything. The latter has fixed itself after a reboot of the camera.
Then it has a tendency to water droplets stick to the lens for switching between the above and underwater photography.
Sounds promising. We'll see what the shop says.
It may be possible on Windows Vista? Time to format the drive and reinstall?
After seeing the excellent high-definition movies from the FT-1 I hit on one. Think that it delivers great images, but you have little control on the technical photo. Not a clue what shutter speed or aperture of its choice.
No problem with me so far. It has certainly not had time to be with so many degrees below freezing yet, but quite windy worked fine ..
I have fixed a little piffigt cover for the lens to avoid water droplets.

@ Erik: FT-1AN is good I think with. Not quite as sharp as Canon and not as quick in the boot, or focus, but clearly better exposure. I have my FT-1 set up so it shows time and aperture most to know what time it chooses. A Panasonic FT-2, which is a bit faster and with lens caps had been model.
@ Ulf; cannon. You're probably spring to become crazy or they could not stand it either salt in norway ...
